Code of Conduct
Coaches Code of Conduct – Coaches will:
- Always strive to be fair, firm, and consistent.
- Promote a positive attitude and lead by example.
- Not argue with parents and always demonstrate good sportsmanship.
- Do their best to ensure each athlete is both physically and mentally ready for whatever task is asked of them.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of NYEAFC and set a proper example for everyone to follow.
- Stress teamwork and respect for every athlete.
- Display control, respect, dignity, and professionalism to all involved with soccer. This includes, but is not limited to,
officials, opponents, coaches, administrators, parents, spectators, and the media. - Ensure that coaching or training activities take place in a safe environment and are appropriate for the age, maturity,
experience, and ability of the players. - Never strike, shove, and threaten to strike, or lay a hand upon an official, player, parent, or spectator. Any act of this
manner will result in immediate termination. - Never use alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or vaping products before or during training sessions or games or allow a player to
participate in club activities while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if using tobacco or vaping products. - Never use trash talk, profane, obscene, or vulgar language under any circumstance, including on social media.
- Never demean a player with insulting name calling or vulgar language. Immediate disciplinary action will be taken
with any coach that partakes in this kind of activity and may result in termination.
Players Code of Conduct – Players will:
- Play by the Laws of the Game.
- Control their tempers, and most importantly, resist the temptation to retaliate when you feel wronged.
- Be good sports by cheering all good plays, whether it’s your team or the opponent’s.
- Treat all players as you would like to be treated.
- Cooperate with your coaches, teammates, opponents, and referees.
- Remember that soccer is a team sport, and the club encourages teammates to support each other as every player
has off days and makes mistakes. - Never abuse anyone or swear in frustration on or off the field, including inappropriate behavior on social media.
- Never use unnecessary rough tactics on purpose during a game.
- Never use alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or vaping products. This can result in immediate expulsion from NY Elite Alleycats
FC. - Always abide by the official’s decision.
- Behave in a mature, responsible, and respectful manner both on and off the field as a member of the team and
representative of the club. - Refrain from using cell phones during practices and games.
Parents Code of Conduct – Parents will:
- Serve as positive role models for their children. Applaud good plays by your child’s team as well as the opposing
team. - Not coach or referee from the sidelines.
- Not embarrass their child by yelling at players, coaches, or officials. Your child will benefit by your positive attitude
toward the game and its participants. - Emphasize skill development and practice and how they benefit your athlete. De-emphasize games in the lower age
groups. - Never use profanity, drugs, alcohol, or tobacco during a game or at training sessions.
- Always show good sportsmanship and set an example for their child.
- Ask their child to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or
ability. - Place the emotional and physical well-being of their child ahead of their personal desire to win.
- Never express verbal abuse, harass, physically strike, or threaten to strike, shove, or lay a hand upon an official,
player, coach, or spectator. This action can result in immediate expulsion from NY Elite Alleycats FC. - Never use trash talk, profane, obscene, or vulgar language under any circumstance, including on social media.
